As an advisor, Looser will serve with 14 other board members from throughout the U.S. to help develop and recognize outstanding leaders in public relations in the profession and the classroom. He will also work to promote the ethical and effective practice of public relations.
“We are delighted that Rick is joining the Board of Advisors,” said Dr. Bruce Berger, director of the Plank Center and chair of The University of Alabama advertising and public relations department. “He received the Outstanding Alumnus Award in Public Relations from The University of Alabama several years ago, and has been a highly successful communications professional and entrepreneur in Mississippi, where The Cirlot Agency has gained national acclaim for its inspiring ‘Mississippi, Believe It!’ campaign.”
Looser has long been recognized as one of the top public relations professionals in the nation, having worked with industry giants Northrop Grumman, Raytheon, Sherwin Williams, ATK, Blue Cross/Blue Shield and Bush Brothers & Company, to name a few. He was also the lead communications strategist in a competition that led to one of the largest defense contracts ever awarded by the U.S. Navy, the DDG 1000 program.
